Štětina Roman (bio ENG)

In 2005 and 2006, he studied aesthetics as well, and in 2008 he completed a semester-long exchange at Bratislava's VŠMU, studying in Kisspal Szabolcz's studio (Studio IN - Ilonna Nemeth).

Štětina's works - both compositions such as Kdo to udělal (Who did it) and Všechno letí (Everything flying) or installations such as Lovec hlasů (The voice hunter) - include field recordings and spoken word. He uses fragments from radio plays, movies, song recitals or his own voice while talking in his sleep.

His compositions and installations explore how taking a word out of context and subsequently using it in a composition or installation can change our perception of speech.
