Bartetzki teaches sound synthesis and algorithmic composition at Berlin's Technical University and Humboldt University, at the Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar, the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock, the KlangArt festival in Osnabrück, the Akademie der Künste in Berlin and elsewhere.

Besides teaching, he pursues his own artistic activities as a programr, sound designer and sound master, working with ensembles, soloists and composers in the field of new music. Groups and individuals he has collaborated with include Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin, Ensemble work in progress, United Berlin, Kairos Quartett, William Forman, Helmut Zapf, Hanna Hartmann, Yueyang Wang, Matthias Jann, Johannes Wallmann, Miguel Azguime, Lenka Župková, Günter Heinz, Akademie der Künste, Kryptonale Berlin, Musikakademie Rheinsberg, and Randspiele Zepernick.

Bartetzki has also developed his own software for algorithmic composition (Cmask) which is used by composers all over the world.
